YEAR 10 MATERIAL TECHNOLOGY
Students achieving 80% and more in Year 9 Material Technology are considered for the enrolment in this subject. There are number restrictions.
This is a half year Programme.
The department offers Wood and Metal technology to students.
Students can Design and Construct their project in both areas, since both the workshops are available during this class.
Selectve Stfrands are covered at this level.
Students are introduced to the design principles and elements at this level. They solve the Issue which are given by the teacher, client, community or the society. The student Researches, Design, Constructs and Evaluates the solution/ Projects against their Specifications from their Clients.
Safety is the major issue in this Subject. Safety is taught first before entering the workshop. Safety issues are carried in a very firm and precise manner in accordance witrh Worksafe NZ. Students are introduced to the Safety Unit 497. Refer to Wookbook for activities and Homework.
