YEAR 9 MATERIAL TECHNOLOGY
This course is conducted over the period of 7 weeks. (Runs throughout the academic year to all year 9 classes).
The course briefly covers all the strands of the Curriculum either through practicals or theory. The student Researches, Designs, Constructs and evaluates their Designs. The Practicals are attempted in the Wood workshop and the Metal workshop, and the Theories and Designs are done in the DVC room. The students spend more time in the Workshops using Tools and Machines safely, to construct their projects.
The more academic students are given opportunities to venture on higher level designing and constructing techniques. The students are given different options in selecting different operations and processes according to their level of capability and expertise.
